At First Baptist Church we strive for
excellence in our nursery program not only because we
deeply value children, but because we know how difficult
it can be to worship when you're worried about your
child! Therefore we dedicate our nursery program
to the glory of God, and in doing so we desire the
utmost quality in our infant care.
Infant
Nursery (0-12 months)
Weekly
infant nursery hours are: Sunday
morning: 9:00am - 12:00pm; Sunday evening: 5:45 - 8:00;
Wednesday evening: 6:45-8:00. Debbie Tyler is our
evening nursery staff member.
A paging system is provided to contact
parents if needed during the service. Parents
are given pagers when they drop off their infant.
The pager system is designed to quickly notify parents
of any problem with the infant during their time in the
nursery.
To ensure the safety of children and
workers, as well as to provide an optimum childcare
environment, we insist on several precautions in our
nursery. For members and regular attenders, ID
badges are created with pictures of both child and
parents. This card also contains information such
as any allergies or special needs so that our nursery
workers are best equipped to serve the needs of your
infant. We check ID's carefully at pick-up, and
therefore we are unable to allow an older sibling, or
any other guardian to pick up the child who is not
authorized on the ID badge. Visitors will receive
visitor ID cards for their infant.

Walkers
(approx. 1 year olds)*
When
children have mastered the art of walking they are
promoted from the infant nursery to the Walkers
class. Therefore, we do not move children based solely
on age; a 10-month old who can walk well moves to the
walkers class. The approximate age for children in
this class is one year-old, but one year-olds do not
automatically leave the infant nursery for the walker
class until they are able to walk.
Two
year olds*
When
a child reaches his second birthday, he is promoted to
the two year old class.

There is childcare available on Sunday and Wednesday
evenings for children 1-5 years old. Jody Wymond
is the evening toddler staff member. Like the
evening hours for the infant nursery, the toddler
childcare is 5:45-8:00 on Sunday evenings, but from
6:45-9:00
on Wednesday evenings.
